ProjectEMS
What is ProjectEMS? That is a good question.
The goal of ProjectEMS is to create a visual story that can be shared among providers and the public to paint a picture of the world that EMS providors live in. I hope to show what it is that they go through day to day, from the exciting to the mundane. It is my goal capture the spirit of what it is they do.
How will I do this?
To capture these moments and photographs it is my hope to find agreements with local providers to photograph their equipment, employees, and premises. In time I also hope to ride along on rigs and supervisor units so that I might capture crews in action during those moments of patient care that are unique to the Emergency industry. At this time the primary company that I hope to work with is American Ambulance of Fresno, both because I work for them and because they are the primary providor for the area in which I live.
What will I do with the photos?
My plan is to run this project over the course of 1-2 years and will conclude it when I have a large enough variety of images to appropriately create the story I hope to share. Once I have the needed images I will be putting them together in a book that I hope to share with providors and agencies everywhere, as well as any interested public.
What can you do to help me?
If you are an EMS provider then I encourage you to send me any ideas that you have for images that you believe would fit with this project, such as equipment, facilities, or call types. You can also help by bringing attention of this project to other providers and your management and encourage them to allow me to photograph your crews. I look forward to showing the world who you are and I hope that I am able to create something you can be proud of.
For now, please enjoy the images in the attached Gallery. There aren't many yet, but I hope to grow it quickly.
